Hey people so I just got some new supplies that I ordered now I can work on some of my new bag ideas. I got small snaphooks so I can make better wristlets/coin purses. I also picked up some 1 inche black webbing for my bags. I already have 1 1/2 inch and 2" but those are not always the right size for what I need so I decided to get a smaller size. I think this webbing will be perfect for my smaller backpacks. Another product I just ventured into was pyramid spikes. I had got some in 1/2 inch size and those work so well I decided to get the smaller 1/4 inch size too for bracelets and decoration. I can't wait to start using my new stuff in my designs! Here are some pics of the new supplies :D

I designed this coffin clutch a few months ago when i noticed there was only ONE coffin clutch design in all of the Gothic underworld. I worked up the prototype and made it for a friend who test drove it for me. I recently was inspired to revist the clutch this week and prefected the design. I was also inspired to make something bright and punky in this normally dark and morbid shape. I have big plans for this clutch, it will become one of my staple designs like my coin purses and my totes. Without further ado here is my most recently made Coffin Clutch.  This clutch is for sale now in my Etsy Store!

*this bag looks a hundred times better in person and I tried every which way to make it look good but this fabric is too reflective to take decent pictures of without an professional photographer. :D

Was feeling really productive yesterday after weeks of not being in the mood to even look at my sewing machine. I finished a clutch that I started two weeks ago and made two new chokers. Here is the second choker I made. I used a gorgeous mettalic teal colored vinyl. I love this fabric and the single yard I purchased over 5 years ago is still going strong. This will also be up on my Etsy store

Okay so here is the latest from WolfChild Designs. Another Pocket On A String (P.O.S.) this time with a punky animal print theme. Main fabric is a grey/black leopard print foax fur. The lining is made with a plan black cotton. A blue leopard pring foax fur fabric was used for the cell/mp3/kay pockets inside. A large pocket is adjsent with a pink vinyl strip for destinction. A zipper at the top keeps your stuff safe. This is the first of my P.O.S.'s to feature a convertable strap design. The strap is connected at two small d-rings with snap hooks at either end of the strap. Dont like accross the shoulder strap? No problem, simply remove the strap and thread your favorite belt though the build in & ever stlyish belt loops.

I just spent the last two days trying to get this zipper pocket sewn into a backpack. The fabric was stretchy so it kept ending up long than the zipper. Then my machine kept messing up and i kept having to tweek it here & there. Finally i get it working and i put the zipper facing the wrong way, not backward or anything, just its right handed now and i specifically wanted it left handed! Needless to say im not going to redo it over something like that it lookes fine ill just have to open it from the other way is all. Oh the joy of sewing!

It's been along time since I've posted my work up on my blogs. I've wondered off for a while. But I'll be posting more stuff soon. I have a new project that I've been working on for an upcoming Anime convention. I'm making some anime inspired backpacks, messanger bags, coin purses, and wallets. Right now I'm working on some stuff for the anime Bleach. Here is a little peak at what I have so far. These are inspired by the 13 court gaurd squad captains.

Hello everyone sorry I haven't posted in a while. Here is what I've been up to since the last post. I moved to Phoenix Arizona and have been going to the local community college, studying Fashion Design and Japanese. I have also been working on a line of tote bags and other small bags which I will be posting entries for with pictures very soon. Most of which are for sale on my Etsy store at WolfChild.etsy.com In my spare time to earn some extra money I've been doing some free lance sewing work though Craigslist. It's been working out okay. I'm trying to get my personal website up and running, which has been a slow going process.

Well that's pretty much everything in a nut shell as to what I've been up to. My plan for the future include continuing my education, moving back to Los Angeles, getting my website up and running and get as many items made as possible.

By next year I would like to be starting a clothing line with some basic pieces just to get some practice in clothing. I have been mostly making bags but I really want to get better at clothing and my costumes. So those are my plans. I'm going to start posting entries about my work once a week so stay tuned to see what I create.

This is a make-up bag I just made the other day. I used a cut-out from some Geisha print fabric as an applique for the front of the bag. The main fabric is a medium green colored corduroy. The lining is brown cotton. The bag itself is a little thick because of the stiff interfacing I used for the applique and the heavy corduroy.

Which was also for the Anime Convention in Long Beach and from the same show as my "Hinata" costume The pants are pretty much finished too but I haven't taken pictures yet. *Special thanks to Hipoman for holding the hood up for me.*

This is the most recent costume I made. It was for Anime Expo, which is one of the largest Anime conventions in the United States. This year it was held in Long Beach California during Forth of July weekend (June 28th-July 3rd). Hinata as a character is very shy and unsure of herself. Born to a noble family there are high expectations on her. All this is expressed in her shy ackward stance and soft spoken voice. I picked this character to cosplay because she has a similar body type and facial features as me. Plus the costume itself was fairly simple. My friend Devon cosplayed as "Kiba" who is in the same Ninja Sqaud as "Hinata" in the show "Naruto". The show Naruto is currently being played on Cartoon Network.

There is one problem that everyone has when wearing a costume, no where to put your stuff. Lets face it most costumes don't have pockets and if your a chick pockets just aren't going to cut it for what you need to carry. Never fear WolfChild Designs has come up with a salution! We design small purses and backpacks that match your costume so well no one will notice your wearing them. Check out these reference pictures, bet you can't tell there's a bag there!

This is the leg band for my "Hinata" costume from the anime series "Naruto". I made this costume for Anime Expo 2007. Originally I wanted to make it a functioning pocket but the vynal wouldn't hold the shape, it was more round than square so I had a different idea.

This bag was inspired by one of my favorite bed sheet sets. I bought this really awesome and rather colorfull bed sheet sets (Bed in a Bag) from Target a few years ago. Needless to say they've been worn out and all I had left of them was one of the pillow casses which was slowly falling apart. I was about to toss it when it hit me "I could use this to make a cute bag!" Come with me now on the journey of making my pillow case into a awesome purse!

Costume: "Superman" Source: Movie "Superman"
This is the Superman costume I made for my boyfriend Alex for Halloween 2005. Everything in this costume was done by me including the boot covers. I even made him a pouch (per his request) that attached to the belt to hold his wallet, keys, etc. This costume like all my other costumes was made using an altered commercial pattern.

Here is a costume I made for my friend Colette for Halloween 2005, it's a modest veriation of Aeon Flux. Since in the cartoon Aeon herself changes outfits more Cher there's really no "one" Aeon Flux outfit. My friend designed this verison so that it fit her body type and her vertures. Being as most of us women don't like to run around Hollywood in a thong.

This costume was also made for my friend Devon for Anime Expo 2006, unfortunatly I didn't get any pictures of her in it. It was made with cotton fabric. The top fabric was originally white and I dyed it orange, then I appliqued the flowers on the shirt using the same white fabric. The pants are double layered yellow cotton. All the jewerly for this outfit was made by hand by me. The braclet is clay beads I shaped by hand and then painted. The necklet was easier, just a chain I already had and a glass bead.

This costume was made for my friend Devon for Anime Expo 2006. I used nylon/polyester fabric for the main body of the costume, trimming it in gray cotton bias binding. The cape is cotton the bottom design is appliqued on the main piece. Unfortunately I was rushing and didn't get pictures of the process. But you can see how it looked on Devon compared to the picture of the character.

This costume was made for my husband Alex for Halloween 2004. Made with a yellow poly-cotton material. The black stripes were sewn on strips of blanket binding. I used a commercial pattern again and altered it for the costume.

Also for Halloween 2004 this was the second costume I ever made. For the skirt I used a pattern but tweeked it a bit to fit the character. For the top the person decided she wanted a sweatshirt because we were gonig to be outside at night and didn't want to be cold. The collar and cuffs I made a pattern for from scratch and just attached them to the sweatshirt. All in all I really liked the outcome.

This costume was also made for Holloween 2004, but was revived for Anime Expo 2006. It's made from purple and black cotton fabric. The staff was hand made by me using dowling rods, corkboard, clay, hotglue, and tape. Then I added the metal rings and painted the whole thing with acrylic paint. This outfit was the hardest one I've made so far. It doesn't seem like it would be that complicated but the characters outfit actually defies gravity, there is no way that the purple piece is just tied in place like that. It wouldn't work. But I think I did a good job making it work.

This was the first costume I ever made. It was originally for Holloween 2004 but I also revived it for Anime Expo 2006. I used commercial patterns but had to alter the design to fit the outfit. The fabric I choose was red cordiroy to give the garment some shape and so it would be able to hold the form. The necklace was also made by me. I painted some round white beads purple/black to form the main body of the necklace and then made each of the fangs by hand out of clay.

This is a jeweled broch I made for my friend Mara's birthday. Made from glass stones and jewelry wire. Wasn't too hard and the supplies were on hand. I'd never done this kind of thing before and I really like the way it came out. It only took me about an hour. The inspiration came from Mara herself, I thought of her and how she is and these jewels came to mind.

Here is the necklace and bracelet for the "Olette" costume I made from the video game "Kindom Hearts 2". The necklace is just a silver chain with a blue transparent glass stone glue to it. The bracelet was made from white clay that I shaped by hand into small beads then painted turquoise and glazed them for shine.

This bracelet was my first project working with clay to make beads. The clay came in various colors and then I painted the designs on them with regular acrylic paint. I used elastic string to finish that way it was easy to put on and take off. Also with the elastic string it was water resistant.

This is a bracelet made from a larger coker necklace that had broken. All the beads fell off so I decided to make it into a bracelet instead. I used the beads from the necklace and changed the design and order of the beads, and used elastic string instead of regular thread so that I didn't need a clasp. I can just slip it on and off.
